"One of Chicago's best songwriters...Hugh Hart has written a fine collection of 11 tunes...the debut scatters lots of habit-forming hooks and gritty melodies with practically unconscious ease."
CHICAGO TRIBUNE

''Two-car garage rock, Stones-juiced pop...Hart is the most cunning and productive songwriter the local rock community has produced since the mid-70's...one of the bright new figures on the club scene..."
Chicago SunTimes

"A GUITAR-FUELED POP WONDER...Wedge has a mighty firm grasp on its own pop sensibilties...add the amount of melodic care that's spoonfed into each song, and what emerges is a solid collection of infectious, memorable tracks."
College Music Journal

''...classically-tailored rock and roll that incorporates swaggering R&B, rumbling quasi-psychedelia and harmonica-dusted acoustic strum-alongs. Hugh Hart skillfully layers wry lyrics, distinctive vocal melodies and sharply plotted chord progressions over tough hooks to create pieces that are thoroughly contemporary."

In 1995, Hugh wrote and sang all the material on "Wedge," which made CMJ's top ten most added album list in April 1996. Later that year he performed at Nashville's famed Bluebird Cafe. Hugh contributed the title track and eight other songs to the "One Heart" album by Chicago blues belter Vanessa Davis. He collaborates frequently with critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Doug Hoekstra and soul diva Suzanne Palmer, who has recorded several of their co-written tunes.

The Hugh solo debut, recorded at Chicago's Rax Trax Studios, serves up tales from the front lines. A 9-to-5 guy falls for a stripper ("Sway"). A freelancer vents ("One Day Mule"). A cabbie yearns for the good life ("Creme Brulee"). Eleven songs in all, featuring Hugh on vocals, harmonica, Hammond organ and the Mighty Casio, plus guest turns by some of Chicago's finest guitar slingers.
